[That gets Roxas to chuckle for the first time in days. It's a small one, though.]

[He makes the connection immediately.]

I know... and I know you guys can take care of yourselves. But I've just never felt this scared before, I don't know what to do with myself.

[While he waits, Roxas will prep some ice cream, toppings and two bowls.]

[Ven is so well-mannered. Roxas is there immediately, letting him in one with soft smile. It's just the two of them there (plus the cats.)]

[Ven isn't the only one who's been worried, though. After shutting the door behind him, Roxas slings an arm around his bro's shoulders for a hug.]

I'm just glad I had a reason to go outside now. I feel like I sat in my room for way too long.

[He squeezes Ven before letting go.]

I know what you mean. You can go crazy sitting in one place for too long.

Come on, there's ice cream.

It makes you think too much.

Can't say no to ice cream.

[To both parts. In the kitchen, there's sprinkles, whipped cream and caramel to go with the ice cream.]

Here. I think we deserve extra today.

It's just some stuff I was saving for a special occasion.

[Ideally it would have been good-special and not...whatever this is, but he'll roll with it.]

Emergency tasty stuff for when we're not feeling so good, huh?

[Roxas joins him in making a sundae. If the amount of ice cream corresponds to how not-so-good they're feeling, the two of them are in bad shape.]

C'mon, let's go sit on the couch with the cats.

[Xact considers chin-scritching to be one of Roxas' sacred duties, and Ven is close enough to count. He rubs his head against the boy's hand as Roxas sits down beside them.]
