If you're not sure why I think they sound fake try reading everything you just wrote

[It's not that Roxas doesn't believe him, because why make that stuff up? But it is really weird.]

I don't think I ever had a dream with things that started eating them

[Riku would say that Roxas has a strange definition of what's weird considering the lives they lead, but well. They are actually having a nice conversation, he isn't about to ruin it like that.]

And you wouldn't; Dream Eaters don't appear in regular dreams. The Sleeping Worlds weren't in contact with the Worlds you know. They were lost so far that not even the Heartless could get to them.

[Indeed. Well. Uhh. Riku would usually nod goodbye, since "catch you later" is kinda awkward still, but. He kind of does have an offer to make before he leaves Roxas alone.]

If you want to visit Kairi sometimes, just text her or me beforehand. I'll make sure that Sora and I are out of the house for a while.

[So that they can have space, or something. Sora needs to be run through some training anyway and it might be better if Kairi doesn't join them on that at first while she's just building her own strength, so… win-win for everyone?]

[One step forward, five steps back again. Well, as he had told Kairi… it's gonna be a long time until he and Roxas play chase on the beach.]

It was an offer; nothing more. I didn't mean anything by it.

[Certainly not that Roxas needs either of that from him. For a second he wants to point out that Roxas doesn't need to always take the hardest path around them… but then thinks better of it. He's already stepped into it, no need to make things worse.]
