He's a friend of mine and I offered to help him with something that was weighing on him. He's not the type to gossip.

There's a few ways.

1. Maybe in an alternate timeline you are, in fact, his friend.

2. Maybe you happen to look exactly like his friend. I've seen this happen plenty of times here. People that look identical, but come from entirely different worlds.

3. If you are having memory problems, then maybe he is right.

In an alternate timeline I'd still be me, not another person. And we probably do look kind of alike but we're from the same worlds so it's not a copy thing.

I can't say I know him well, but I've known him for a long time. He's never seemed unreasonable to me. There has to be something more to this.
