All right. We definitely will—I hang out with Ven and Terra a lot, actually, but I knew you'd be settling in...

[He trails off, a little unsure now. Patience is good, but he knows for a fact how many things she must want to ask—he's been through it before—and leaving her with nothing yet seems wrong.]

Um. Aqua? I'm not sure what else Terra said, but we don't know for sure why Ven and I look the same. We tell people we're brothers, or they assume on their own.

And you aren't his Nobody.

[As a reminder to herself just as much as it is a confirmation for him.]

Ah.

[Right. He would have had to give her some explanation. Maybe it's even good that she already knows about Nobodies. That conversation is always uncomfortable.]

It's got to have something to do with Sora. Some kind of connection between their hearts. I'm just not sure what that is.

[Because obviously Terra would have explained Sora, too. Obviously.]

[Yes. Because Terra's explanations are always extremely multi-dimensional, thorough, and complete. It was a very long conversation. Almost three whole minutes.]

Sora? But...

[You can hear the frown in her voice.]

What does Ven have to do with Sora?

[ And what does Sora have to do with you? ]

[Roxas goes silent for nearly half a minute. Terra had explained Nobodies but left that out? That was like trying to read a book that was missing half its pages.

Which wasn't so different from Roxas, if he thought about it.]

I'm his Nobody.

[... Silence.]

[Waiting...waiting...]

Aqua?

[She almost sounds hoarse when she finally does manage to formulate a response.]

... ... How?

[The uncertainty in his voice is growing steadily, along with his discomfort.]

Didn't Terra tell you?

Sora lost his heart. I was...born, or created. Whatever you want to call it. But I'm not Sora; I don't have any memories from before it happened.

Aqua's voice softens, but loses none of its harshness.]

I was ... asking about Sora.

[Replicas. Nobodies. How many Keyblades are in Siren's Port anyway? Shall she just take a consensus? Is there a Replica of Ven somewhere out there? Just how much has she forgotten?]

How did Sora lose his heart?

[This definitely isn't Roxas' story. And yet...it is.]

Kairi had already lost hers when their island fell to the darkness. But it was with his the whole time.

So he [I] turned the Keyblade on himself to free it and lost his [mine] when he did.

Or so I'm told. Like I said, I don't remember that.

[So ... Not only has Kairi departed from Radiant Garden -- why is still unclear -- but after she found her way to Sora and Riku's world, she lost her heart.

And the island ... That's gone as well.]

So, then... Where is her Nobody?

Namine is here, too. She lives with me and Joe and Xion.

There's a lot of us from the same world. Or worlds...you know what I mean.

[Namine? ... The same Namine who'd asked about magic?
... The quiet thud that follows is her sitting down, not hitting the floor.]

Ah ... Yes. I suppose that makes sense.

[They're fine now. Whatever happened, Sora and Kairi are both ...]

[The answer is slightly muffled. She's rubbing her face.]

I know it's a lot to hear.

[And it's just the start.]

[It's sinking in a little more slowly than she would have liked. The very worst part is that she just can't fathom how things could have spiraled out of control so thoroughly ... she understands, to some extent, the discrepancies of time and space that Siren's Port creates. Sora, Riku, Kairi -- they were so much older than when she first met them all, but she can't imagine why someone wasn't there to guide them as they grew.]

... Yes. I ...

[If not her own Master, then... why had she not returned to Radiant Garden to check on Kairi's well-being? Where was she when that girl lost her heart -- and when Sora lost his? Where had Terra been? And Ventus?]

I'm sorry. I don't know what to say.

[How could he expect her to listen to all of this without batting an eye? No one could.

And there's still so much to tell. Ansem, Xemnas...Xehanort. What he'd done to Terra, in their world and again in Siren's Port. He couldn't begin to tell those stories now even if he wanted to.]

I'd like to talk to you again soon, Roxas. I just...

[That would be one thing she would expect to come from Terra directly. The change in her friend -- physical and otherwise -- commands some sort of explanation. ... Someday.]

... I think I need some time.

Sure. I understand.

[He hesitate for a moment.]

I'm glad you're back. Terra and Ven haven't been the same without you.

[Despite everything ... ]
