[He breathes such a sigh of relief, and after a moment, he does pull back, if only so she can see how happy he is.]
I went back too, Xion. Not too long ago. And I remember more than that. [The end, and the beginning.] We all make it through. We're all going to be okay.
his smile is absolutely radiant. she can feel the warmth in her heart, a lightness that she'd forgotten how to feel. or maybe had never felt, at least not this strongly. ]
The twenty-second clip kicks off pretty aggressively with the audio maxing out on a blend of screaming and a loud hissing. Visually, it's metal being melted, steam rising, and skin bubbling within the armor as glowing hands quiver before it.
Thankfully, the horrid sight drops from direct view with an unceremonious thud, leaving just the trembling hands. They smoke, and there are glowing outlines that trace the impressions of scales across them.
The screaming's stopped, too.
This leaves the last eight or nine seconds of just panting and the distant clanging of weapons before a nearby voice hollers:
"Holy SHIT, Cece! Did you just melt that dude in his own suit?!"
[This is absolutely not the kind of message Roxas expects to get in his inbox — why would someone send this to anyone? At first he thinks it's a prank, someone's idea of a bad joke, right up until he hears the name at the end.
He waits for a long while before giving her a call.]
I mean...! [hrnghhgnk.] Yyyyyes? I. I did do that? Before? How did you get an image like that? There aren't any recording devices back home!
That--that's what I mean. It wasn't here. It was. Back...where I'm from. The valley, I mean, not like, my house or whatever. And he was trying to kill me! So...!
Yyyeah...yeah, no, there's definitely those. Especially here. [a gentle huff, lapsing into a long pause.
eventually:] That's...not really something I make a habit of doing, by the way. Just so we're clear. I was--well, like I said. Scared. And pretty dumb. I hadn't practiced offensive spellcraft in a way to be, like...dangerous to other people before?
Yeah, it doesn't seem like something you'd do a lot. That's one reason I was so surprised.
[She's got a temper, but not like that.]
Actually, I think it's cool that you focused on other kinds of magic. I mean, there's nothing wrong with combat magic, but it's all pretty...simple? There's nothing that special about me freezing a Heartless with blizzard magic. Doing other stuff with it sounds more interesting.
Yyyyeah, maybe don't do that to things here. Unless asked by someone reputable. [a beat.] You...probably don't need me to tell you that, of course.
I just mean! I don't know. There may be other avenues to experiment with? I'm as far from an ice-sorcerer as they come, so I can't really offer insight in that particular field of study, so...
This is long overdue. I could give you several reasons as to why I've been so delayed, but I feel it may be moot.
I wanted to send a note in regard to the unsavory business of my capture last month -- in that I'm aware you were there to help me. I apologize for not lingering long to acknowledge you then (again: several reasons, probably moot), but I did notice you.
Thank you. I shudder to think of how long I would've had to put up with that had you and the others not come to my aid.
I'm not sure what the appropriate show of gratitude would be in this circumstance; where I am from, valorous feats were repaid in gold, land, or titles, typically. I have none of those to offer. I'm afraid I must defer to your judgment in this case, so please advise me of what you would wish to accept.
[It takes a little while for him to reply. Not TOO long, just long enough that maybe he was on an errand or something. Because he's not really sure what to say? But he's happy to hear from her. But he's not sure what to say.
So eventually he just says whatever pops out.]
Hi Cecelia I'm glad you're okay and you again Don't worry about gratitude I know you'd do the same for your friends if they needed it :)
