Well, Vanitas said something that I don't really get. This is going to sound really weird, but....

Do you know anything about a "girl" me?

[Say that with a straight face.]

[Darn it, he didn't really want to deal with this all over again. But of course Vanitas would mention it to more than just Roxas.]

What? Okay, you have to explain this one to me.

Because I'm lost, and that really doesn't make any sense.

It's...complicated. There isn't anyone who really looks just like you—us. But there is someone...he's talking about Xion.

Did anyone ever tell you what Xion is? She was part of the Organization, but she's not a Nobody like me and Axel.

She's a replica, like Joe. The Organization made him to be a replica of Riku, but Xion wasn't made of data. She was made of memories.

How can she made of memories?

[He pauses as he considers what to say. This is hard.]

We didn't know about it at the time, but a while ago, they forced Namine to change Sora's memories. She has that power. Then when he went to sleep so she could change them back, some of them got scattered and found their way to Xion. Other ones came through me, to her, because I'm his Nobody.

I don't know how it works, but that's what they did. They wanted her to absorb Sora's memories and then absorb me because it would give them control over his power. Xion figured it out first and refused to let that happen.

So what happened?

She died.

[He swallows hard.]

The memories that made her went back to Sora. That's why everyone forgot her until she came here. Anyway...because of what she is, sometimes people see her differently. To me, at the end, she looked like Sora. And when Terra first saw her, he said she looked like you, or me, even though she sounded the same. I don't know if he still sees her like that. But that must be what Vanitas saw, too.

I.... I'm sorry, Roxas.

It's okay. It's been almost a year. I learned how to deal with it.
